Presentation

How useful has this presentation been - very useful. I will definitely be using the work i have created on teaching practice. A useful task.

Hyperlinks to maps

I have to say that i wasn't very engaged and motivated in this seminar because i found the processes involved very confusing. Many people around me seemed to be having no problems at all but for me this was a challenge however, I really like the idea of creating interactive maps to gain information. Children can create these maps for their school which could be loaded up to the school's website for others to view to gain information about the school, the buildings, the school grounds, location, number of children etc. I think to use this technology children would need guidance but i believe in today's world many children would probably have fewer problems than i did!

Podcasting

This Podcasting task was great for me because i have never had any expereince downloading a podcast to listen to or creating my own. I must admit the only reason i know about Podcasting is because i listen to the Radio One breakfast show with Chris Moyles and he is alwyas mentioning that listeners can download the show onto a podcast. Otherwise i would have never heard of it! Fantastic for children particularly to improve their speaking and listening skills, but also as a confidence booster for speaking within a group or to an audience. Easy to use and great fun. Something i will definitely be using in the future if the school had the software.

Making Music using Super Dooper Music Looper!

How fantastic was the software! Before the start of this session i was little apprehensive about how time consuming it may be and how difficult it may be to use but i really had no reason to be apprehensive. Super Dooper Music Looper was not time consuming at all. It was quick and easy to use with maximum output for effectiveness. We created a fantastic piece of music that we would not have been abe to do without the use of ICT. I am not a musical person in this slightest but this software made me feel like i could enjoy being a part of making music. I didn't have to be able to play an instrument or read lines of music to be able to create my own song. I am sure many children within the classroom who are not able to play a musical instrument or read music will get the maximum benefit from Super Dooper Music Looper because music will be accessible to them, through the use of ICT. Simple, effective and accessible!

How fun is using ICT with Music!

I have been known at times to be slightly negative towards ICT but i can honestly say after yesterdays lecture 'Usind ICT in Music' i will definitely aim to use Super Duper Music Looper or another ICT music aid on my fourth year teaching placement. We were shown yesterday how helpful ICT can be to us for example, recording the music we create, playing it back to us and some basics such as making backing tracks on CDs for children to sing along to. I now agree that music doesn't have to be just about musical instruments, ICT can be used alongside it. Rob kept mentioning that ICT does not replace the experience of hands on using musical instruments and i completly agree but we all have to agree it does help us to make our lives easier. When we all started singing in the lecture i'm sure it gave everyone a buzz. Music with ICT can work!!!!

Animation complete

Our animation task has now been completed and it was definitely not as easy as we thought because of how long it took to get all the sequencing correct. I think this was partly because we wanted the movements of the characters to be in time with the beats to the music. Definitely worth the wait though because it looks great.
